River crossings closed as rainfall continues
DEVELOPING: Yass SES is now in a quiet period after last night’s heavy rainfall across the region.
They were not called to any incidents but say residents should continue to drive to the conditions and stay away from flooded areas.
An update issued at 6.20am remains current, with Greenwood Road crossing just under the bridge and expected to rise.
Booth’s Crossing is still closed, as is Yass low level near the high school. All other bridges are open.
Their next update with be at midday.
“Please take care on the roads as there is a lot of damage out there,” duty officer Pete Chatwin said.
Another rainfall band is expected this afternoon and they are on standby for that, but are today taking river intelligence to determine which river crossing are accessible.
They encourage readers who come across storm damage or localised flooding to send them photographs or messages on their Facebook page showing river height.
