Maya’s Rest welcomes hand crafted quilts
COMMUNITY: Members of the Yass Quick Quilters visited local respite care centre Maya’s Rest to donate their handmade wares on Sunday.
The crafty crew of ladies took the opportunity for a tour of the facility before presenting an array of quilts they have made for families to use during their stay.
Maya’s Rest offers non-medically assisted respite to families of children with life threatening illnesses and those in home-based end of life care.
Respite is offered free of charge and includes meals and optional activities so families can spend time together without the worry of daily routines.
“They are perfect to have over the couch or in the toy room so the families can use them when settling in to watch TV or a movie, especially coming into the cooler months,” said Maya’s Rest owner Tash Maguire.
“They would also be great as a top cover on the respite beds.”
