The Yass Show this weekend will showcase excellence in agriculture, art and craft and horsemanship, with all the entertainment of Side Show Alley and the PBR Bullride on Saturday night.

The top 40 bull riders in the country will converge on Yass Show Grounds for the 4th annual Yass Show PBR Bull Ride.

For those who have not experienced a PBR event before, there is one thing you need to know – this is not a rodeo!

Fans will witness thrilling eight-second rides and jaw-dropping wrecks as the PBR’s insanely brave cowboys risk it all against monstrous animal athletes that can weigh as much as 1000kg, in three hours of dangerous drama on dirt.

Like all PBR events, it is hard to determine an outright favourite with any one of the 40 riders in the competition able to step up on the night and deliver the winning ride.

To ensure the competition is challenging each rider will ride once, with the top 10 scores from the Long Round qualifying back to the final and deciding Championship Round.

The top 10 riders will then be randomly drawn against the top 10 bulls in the competition.

The rider with the highest combined scores on two bulls being the eventual event winner.

But it will be far from easy for cowboys travelling from as far as North Queensland when they go up against a pen of the toughest bulls in the state.

Local Yass stock contractor George Hempenstall will have bulls such as Red Rat and Rambo there, along with bulls from PBR stock contractors L&M Rodeo and Garry McPhee.

L&M Rodeo’s Cocane, who was the 2015 Brendon Clark Invitational highest point bull of the night, will be one of the 10 all-star bulls making up the championship round.

The riders will be in safe hands come show time with two of the best in the business in the arena with them.

Cup Series Protection Athletes Mitch Russell and Lincoln Brown will be putting on their jerseys for what will be a night full of high octane entertainment.

With pulsating choreographed music and extreme live action the Yass Show Grounds will be the place to be come April 9. Tickets available from the gate.
