Yass-Rosary triumphant over Vikings

JUNIOR RUGBY: The sun came out just in time for the Yass-Rosary Rams to take on the Vikings (Red) on Downer Oval Saturday morning.
 The game was started off with a quick score by Tom Carey.

With an excellent passing game there were soon more tries scored by George Walker, Charlie Crozier, Patrick McPhillips and two more from Tom Carey.
Charlie Crozier converted all but one of the first half tries.
The Vikings fought hard but excellent tackling and ruck work from the Rams kept them from getting across the line in the first half.

The second half continued the Yass-Rosary Rams domination with more scoring from Tom Carey, George Walker, Shaun Harris and Patrick McPhillips.
The conversions were shared around with Tom Carey, George Walker, Patrick McPhillips, Leo Dwyer, Mitchell Gunning and Tom Medway all having successful kicks.

Again, the Vikings put in an excellent effort by the Rams defence was just too much for them.  At the final whistle, the score was 92 – 0 to the Yass-Rosary Rams.
The Player’s Player of the Week went to Pierce Gourlay, and the Coach’s Player of the Week was split between Tom Medway and Mitchell Gunning.

Next week the Rams meet St Edmund’s College (White) in Yass on Victoria Park Oval at 10:30am

Kim Gourlay moved to Australia 21 years ago and has lived in Yass for the last 5 years. She started photography as a young apprentice to her father as he travelled the state of Colorado taking landscape and nature photographs. As photographer, she attends many of the local events to help preserve the history of the Yass Valley. Kim has also volunteered as a member of various committees and associations, including the Mt Carmel College Ltd Board of Directors. She is also a member of YassArts organisation. She loves living in Yass with her family and is committed to seeing it remain a strong, thriving community it is today.
