COUNCIL:  Those interested in having a say in the allocation of $475,000 for Yass community project improvements have a month to send in their submissions to council.

A report lodged at the August Council meeting  has provided details on $475,000 to be spent on sporting fields, parks and reserve improvements to be funded from Section 94 Developer Contributions.

Council’s Director of Engineering, Gary Chapman said, “We have a long list of projects that ideally, if we had the budget, we would complete them all, however this isn’t the case so we have had to prioritise the list of projects and are therefore seeking comment from the Yass community”.

“We feel that the below list of projects will add significant improvement, value and further enhance current facilities and amenities available to residents of Yass.”

Section 94 Developer Contributions are monetary contributions paid by developers to council for the provision of public infrastructure and community facilities. These funds have been collected within the Yass township and therefore are only eligible to be spent within the Yass township.

Public submissions regarding the undertaking of these works will be received up until 5pm, Friday October 2.
